Getting Started

Welcome to the Improved Factions plugin! This guide will help you set up the plugin on your Minecraft server and get started with customizing your factions experience.


Step 1: Download and Install

Requirements

  1. A Minecraft server running version 1.18 or later.
  2. A server platform such as Spigot, Paper, or compatible forks.
  3. Basic familiarity with server management.

Download the Plugin

  1. Visit the Improved Factions Modrith.
  2. Download the latest release (ImprovedFactions.jar).

Install the Plugin

  1. Place the downloaded .jar file into your server’s plugins folder.
  2. Restart your server to generate the default configuration files.

Step 2: Basic Setup

After installation, the plugin works out of the box with default settings. You can modify these settings to tailor the experience to your server.

Default Configuration

  1. Locate the config.yml file in the plugins/ImprovedFactions folder.
  2. Open the file in a text editor to view and edit the settings.
  3. Save your changes and restart the server for them to take effect.

Step 4: Optional Modules

Enable Additional Features

Improved Factions supports modular features that can be disabled:

To enable / disable a module:

  1. Open the config.yml file.
  2. At the top, under modules, set the desired module to true or false.
  3. Restart the server.

Translations

Improved Factions is fully translatable! Edit the languages/messages_<locale>.properties file to localize text into your preferred language.

Editing the languages/messages_en.properties to get custom messages for your server is supported as well


Step 6: Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues:

  1. Check the server console for errors.
  2. Refer to the Wiki for detailed troubleshooting steps.
  3. Join the Discord Server for support.
  4. Ask the AI chatbot for help.
